Before the Orioles arrived in 1954, Baltimore's Black baseball fans had the Black Sox. The Baltimore Black Sox were one of the great East Coast clubs of the Negro Leagues, a charter member of the Eastern Colored League in 1923 and the 1929 American Negro League champions.
That championship team won more than 70 percent of its games behind the "Million Dollar Infield" of Jud Wilson, Frank Warfield, Oliver Marcell and Dick Lundy, a name the press gave them for what they would have been worth as white players. Our collection keeps that story on your head, on your back and on your wall.
