Description

Built for cold nights at the ballpark and everyday wear, the Baltimore Black Sox Heritage Hoodie puts one of Black baseball's great East Coast clubs front and center. The Black Sox helped found the Eastern Colored League in 1923, won the 1929 American Negro League championship, and sent Jud Wilson, Pete Hill, Satchel Paige, and Leon Day to the Hall of Fame.

"BLACK SOX" arches across the chest in raised orange chenille with a stitched border. An orange "B" sits on the right sleeve, and the left sleeve carries a round baseball-stitch patch reading "BALTIMORE" with "19" and "23," the year the Black Sox joined the Eastern Colored League. "Heritage Collection" is embroidered in orange script at the left cuff; a woven Negro Leagues Baseball Museum patch sits at the lower front.

The 60% cotton, 40% polyester fleece is soft and warm without feeling bulky. Raglan sleeves, a drawstring hood, a front kangaroo pocket, and ribbed cuffs and waistband round out a classic pullover fit. Available in sizes Small through 5X-Large.

The Black Sox played at Maryland Baseball Park in South Baltimore, a ballpark the club owned outright, and finished second in the Eastern Colored League in 1924 under player-manager Pete Hill. In 1929, the "Million Dollar Infield" of Jud Wilson, Frank Warfield, Oliver Marcell, and Dick Lundy carried Baltimore to the American Negro League title. Satchel Paige pitched for the club in 1930, and Baltimore native Leon Day began his professional career with the Black Sox in 1934.

Care: machine wash warm with like colors, tumble dry low, and cool iron if needed. Do not bleach, soak, or dry clean.

Pair it with the Baltimore Black Sox Legends Baseball Cap or layer it over the Baltimore Black Sox Long Sleeve T-Shirt.

Officially licensed. A portion of every purchase benefits the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, helping preserve these stories for future generations.
