About This Framed Print
This Success framed motivational print features a portrait of educator Booker T. Washington, paired with an inspirational message about determination and seizing success. The image is double matted and set in a black frame, finished and ready to display.
The message printed on the poster reads:

The History Behind the Image
Booker T. Washington was born into slavery in Virginia around 1856. After emancipation he worked in salt furnaces and coal mines, then made his way to Hampton Institute, where he studied and later taught. In 1881 he became the first leader of Tuskegee Institute in Alabama, building it into one of the leading Black educational institutions in the nation. His 1901 autobiography, Up From Slavery, remains a classic of American literature. Note: earlier descriptions attributed the poster's message to Washington himself; we have not found it in his documented writings, so we present it as the poster's message.
