Aggie Pride! The Blue and Gold Marching Machine once led the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade down the streets of New York, and this Christmas the blue and gold leads the way across your mantel. The North Carolina A&T Aggies HBCU College Santa Claus Figurine dresses a 12-inch Black Santa Claus in a royal blue coat and stocking cap trimmed in white faux fur, with gold pants and a blue toy sack carrying the gold A&T logo at his feet.
Santa in Aggie Blue and Gold
A royal blue stocking cap with a white fur brim, a sprig of holly, and a gold bell at the tip frames Santa's sculpted brown face, rosy cheeks, and full, curly black beard. His blue coat is edged in white fur and cinched with a black belt and gold buckle over gold pants and black boots. One hand holds a frosted mini Christmas tree. The other carries his naughty and nice list, a long cloth scroll stitched with names. A gold twisted cord leads to the royal blue toy sack set in front of him, embroidered with the gold A&T logo and overflowing with a wrapped red gift, a candy cane, holly, and red and gold berry picks.
The Legacy Behind the Aggie
North Carolina A&T was created by the state legislature in 1891 as the Agricultural and Mechanical College for the Colored Race, the second college founded under the Second Morrill Act of 1890. Its first 37 students met at Shaw University in Raleigh before Greensboro citizens donated land and funds to bring the school to its permanent home in 1893. The university, guided by the motto Mens et Manus (Mind and Hand), became the first HBCU to enroll over 15,000 students in 2025 and is the largest public HBCU in the country.
On February 1, 1960, four A&T freshmen, Ezell Blair Jr., Franklin McCain, Joseph McNeil, and David Richmond, sat down at the Woolworth's lunch counter in downtown Greensboro and sparked a sit-in movement that spread across the South. The Aggie family also includes the Rev. Jesse Jackson, class of 1964, who quarterbacked the football team and led student government; NASA astronaut Ronald McNair, class of 1971; jazz saxophonist Lou Donaldson; and television host Terrence J, class of 2004. Aggie Pride itself took hold in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and today it echoes through the Greatest Homecoming on Earth every fall.
Christmas Decor for the Aggie Family
Set this African American Santa Claus figurine on the mantel, a bookshelf, an office desk, or the entry table that greets holiday guests. It makes a Christmas gift for an A&T graduate who can't make it back to Greensboro, a student home from the fall semester, or the family that plans every October around GHOE. He arrives in a green snowflake gift box with a display window, so he is ready to give the moment he arrives.
