Fierce Denkyem: Decorative African Wooden Walking Stick

The Meaning of Denkyem

Denkyem is the Adinkra symbol of the crocodile in Akan culture. Because the crocodile thrives in water while breathing air, it stands for adaptability: the ability to move between different worlds and survive in changing conditions. Hand Carved in Ghana

Fierce Denkyem is hand-carved from sese wood, a native West African wood valued by Ghanaian carvers for its workability and fine detail. Each stick is hand-painted and etched by the artisan and her team, so there are slight differences in size, shape and pattern from piece to piece. Those variations make every walking stick unique.
