Stand together. Stand right. Stand firm. This framed set puts Dr. King's example in front of you three ways. Let it build you up from every side.
About This Framed Set
This framed triptych brings together three motivational posters: Unity, with an image from the 1963 March on Washington; Integrity, with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in his office before a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi; and Dedication, with Dr. King behind bars in Birmingham. The three posters are matted together in one black frame, so the set displays as a single piece of wall art.
The three messages read:
Unity: When one person stands up, he is often not noticed; but when thousands stand up together they cannot be overlooked.
Integrity: When your character is built on spiritual and moral foundation, your contagious way of life will influence millions.
Dedication: Your self-sacrificing devotion to your purpose in life and your unwavering faith will carry you through times of difficulty.
The History Behind the Images
About 250,000 people gathered for the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom on August 28, 1963, where Dr. King delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech. King drew deeply on the nonviolent philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi, whose portrait hung in his Southern Christian Leadership Conference office in Atlanta. His dedication cost him his freedom many times, including in Birmingham, where the famous photograph of him behind bars was taken in 1967 as he served a sentence from the 1963 campaign.
