Integrity is who you are when the cameras leave the room. Dr. King built his life on a foundation that could not be bought, bribed, or broken, and that foundation is why his words still move millions today. Build your character right, and your influence will outlive you. That is the power of a life lived with integrity.
About This Poster
This Integrity motivational poster features Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in his office, with a framed portrait of Mahatma Gandhi on the wall behind him, above a message about character and influence. The open edition poster is printed on paper and ready for framing or display as is.
The message printed on the poster reads:
When your character is built on spiritual and moral foundation, your contagious way of life will influence millions.
The History Behind the Image
Dr. King studied the nonviolent philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi as a seminary student, and in 1959 he traveled to India on what he called a pilgrimage to learn more about Gandhi's methods. A portrait of Gandhi hung in King's office at the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in Atlanta. Photographer Bob Fitch's 1966 image of King standing before that portrait became one of the best-known pictures of him, and it later helped inspire the design of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial in Washington, D.C.
