"O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together."
Psalm 34:3 (KJV)
The saints have said it for generations, from the front pew to the back row: when the praises go up, the blessings come down. Praise is not something we save for when life is easy. We lift Him up in the valley and on the mountaintop, in the lean years and the full ones, because He is worthy in every season. And at Christmas, we have the best reason of all, because the promised Savior came down to meet us. Keep Christ in Christmas, and give Him the praise that belongs to Him.
We Give Him Praise captures worship at its highest point. Three Black praise dancers in flowing white gowns rise together out of a soft cloud of golden light. The dancer at the center is lifted high by her sisters, one arm stretched toward heaven and her face turned upward, with sheer white fabric streaming from her sleeve like a banner. On either side, the two women holding her up look to the sky with her, one with long braids gathered into a bun and the other with a cascade of natural curls. Their bare feet are planted firmly on the ground while everything else reaches upward. "We Give Him" is stamped in gold foil script above them, and "Praise" sweeps across the bottom of the card in large gold foil letters.
Lifted Together
What makes this image so powerful is how the women hold each other up. One rises because two are lifting, and all three are looking in the same direction. The church works the same way at its best, with sisters who carry one another, so that someone weary can still reach for heaven. The all-white garments, worn by so many praise dance ministries, keep every eye on the movement and on the One being praised.
Inside the Card
A verse of praise from the Psalms is printed on the left inside panel over a soft pattern of green sprigs and red berries. On the right, a pine branch with red berries and a small red ornament sits above this printed message:
When the praises go up
the blessings rain down!
May your Christmas be filled
with the joy of the LORD
and all that is found in him!
There is plenty of room below for your own words of encouragement.
Send We Give Him Praise to your praise and worship team, your dance ministry, your prayer partners, the church mothers, and every friend who has ever lifted you up when you could not lift yourself. Each card mails in a white envelope lined with gold foil and closes with a gold seal.
