A country known for artisans that specialize in the art of Lost Wax Bronze making. This way of crafting Bronze sculpture is an intense and gruelling process. The technique was first used in the 3rd millennium BC and is continued today by this select group of craftsmen in Burkino Faso.

These talented metalworkers casted this sculpture that depicts an woman carrying water back to her home or the village. African water bearers also have some spiritual symbolisms in Africa and America. In Africa the water container is frequently carried on the head and is associated with a crown symbolizing the importance of water and the person carrying the water to the community. Also, the water container is frequently associated with the womb of a woman where life is created. In Western culture, the water bearer is frequently associated with zodiac sign Aquarius.

Measures 6 inches (height) x 2 inches (length) x 2.5 inches (width).
