The assignment was bigger than anything he had faced, and God never promised him an easy road. He promised His presence. About the Artist
Nicholle Kobi grew up between two cultures: she was born in Kinshasa and raised in Normandy, France. She left a corporate career in insurance to draw full time, building her brand around the beauty and self-assurance of Black women. After founding her Paris studio in 2014, she moved her work to New York in 2018. Her illustrations have appeared in Glamour, Essence and Jeune Afrique, and in greeting card collections with Hallmark.

Congolese-French illustrator Nicholle Kobi left a career in insurance to draw full time, and her portraits of Black women and sisterhood now reach a worldwide audience. She founded her studio in Paris in 2014 and has been based in New York since 2018.
