Description
Fifty-three years. That is how long New York waited between championship banners. From the Willis Reed and Walt Frazier glory days of 1973 to the night Jalen Brunson kissed the Larry O'Brien Trophy in San Antonio. Wishum Gregory's "Return to Glory" captures the moment a half-century of heartbreak, near misses, and unwavering faith finally paid off for the most passionate fanbase in basketball.
Gregory sets the celebration against a glowing New York City skyline, with the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, and fireworks framing the iconic orange and blue. At the heart of the composition, the team hoists the trophy together while confetti falls, surrounded by portraits of the coach and ten players who authored one of the most dramatic title runs in NBA history. The 2026 Knicks trailed by double digits in every game of the Finals and kept coming back, including the largest comeback in Finals history, a 29-point rally in Game 4. This print tells that story of resilience in a single image.
The Champions Depicted
Head Coach Mike Brown: An NBA lifer who had been fired four times and doubted at every stop, Brown finally claimed a championship as a head coach after winning four titles as an assistant with San Antonio and Golden State. His steady vision and willingness to adapt his offense turned a talented roster into a champion in his first season on the New York bench.
#11 Jalen Brunson, Point Guard: The captain and heartbeat of the franchise, Brunson was named the unanimous Finals MVP after scoring a Knicks Finals record 45 points in the title-clinching Game 5. A second-round pick who arrived in free agency in 2022, he reset the trajectory of the entire organization and celebrated the crown alongside his father, Knicks assistant coach Rick Brunson. Gregory depicts him kissing the Larry O'Brien Trophy, the defining image of the championship.
#32 Karl-Anthony Towns, Center: Acquired in a blockbuster trade, Towns silenced critics who questioned whether he could anchor a title team. When the offense began flowing through him midway through the playoffs, the Knicks ripped off a record-winning streak and never looked back.
#8 OG Anunoby, Power Forward: The two-way forward delivered the most famous basket of the run, a tip-in with 1.2 seconds left that completed the historic 29-point comeback in Game 4 of the Finals. His lockdown defense set the tone for the best defensive team in the playoffs.
#3 Josh Hart, Shooting Guard/Small Forward: The ultimate glue guy, Hart brought relentless rebounding, hustle, and heart every single night. He reunited with his college teammate Brunson in New York, and together with Mikal Bridges, they became the first trio of teammates to win both an NCAA title and an NBA championship together.
#25 Mikal Bridges, Small Forward: Acquired at a steep price and scrutinized from the moment he arrived, Bridges answered every doubt with elite perimeter defense and timely scoring. After losing in the 2021 Finals with Phoenix, he finally climbed the mountain with his longtime Villanova brothers.
#23 Mitchell Robinson, Center: The longest-tenured Knick, Robinson was drafted by New York in 2018 and endured the lean years before tasting glory. His shot-blocking, offensive rebounding, and interior presence anchored the league's stingiest playoff defense.
#00 Jordan Clarkson, Shooting Guard: The veteran bucket-getter and former Sixth Man of the Year joined New York in 2025, chasing the ring that eluded him in the 2018 Finals with Cleveland. His instant offense off the bench gave the Knicks a spark all season long.
#5 Jose Alvarado, Point Guard: The Brooklyn native known as "Grand Theft Alvarado" came home in a midseason trade and became an instant fan favorite. His eight fourth-quarter points in Game 4 of the Finals helped fuel the greatest comeback the championship round has ever seen.
#2 Miles McBride, Point Guard: One of only two homegrown draft picks in the rotation, McBride embodied the defensive identity that carried New York through the playoffs. His tenacity on the ball and dependable shooting made him a trusted piece of the championship puzzle.
#44 Landry Shamet, Shooting Guard: The sharpshooting veteran provided steady bench scoring and floor spacing throughout the championship season. His readiness whenever his number was called reflected the depth that separated these Knicks from every pretender before them.
