One choice. One seat. One woman who decided she was done giving in. Your destiny is not written by somebody else; it is built one decision at a time. The choice you make today about where you sit, who you follow, and what you accept is shaping the person you will be tomorrow. Choose like Rosa did.
About This Poster
This Destiny motivational poster features civil rights icon Rosa Parks seated on a Montgomery city bus, paired with a message about how our choices shape our future. The open edition poster is printed on paper and ready for framing or display as is.
The message printed on the poster reads:
The choices you make in life ultimately determine your destiny.
The History Behind the Image
On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks, a seamstress and longtime NAACP activist, was arrested in Montgomery, Alabama, for refusing to give up her bus seat to a white passenger. Her arrest launched the Montgomery Bus Boycott, which lasted 381 days and brought a young Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to national prominence. After the Supreme Court upheld the ruling against bus segregation, the boycott ended, and on December 21, 1956, Parks was photographed riding near the front of a newly desegregated Montgomery bus. That widely published photo is often mistaken for an image of her 1955 arrest, but no photograph of the arrest itself is known to exist.
About the Founder
Founder William Armstead built Motivational Product Depot, originally D'azi Productions, around the belief that history can motivate. Each poster in his collection connects a single word, such as courage, vision, or strength, to a moment or a person from Black history, so the lesson lands every time someone walks past it.
