The third installment of Kolongi Brathwaite’s Freedom Series features the Sisters of the Struggle riding out on horseback, in the middle of the night, ready to fight for the freedom of their people. This art print features the following African-American heroines: Sojourner Truth, Shirley Chisholm, Rosa Parks, Winnie Mandela, Susan L. Taylor, Harriet Tubman, Assata Shakur, Michelle Obama, Coretta Scott King, Zora Neale Hurston and Angela Davis.

Kolongi BrathwaiteInternational artist Kolongi's unique vision and innovative style brings a fresh approach to Black heritage art. At eight years of age, he was awarded first prize in a county-wide Barbadia competition. Self-taught, he forged his own style for which he continues to receive international attention and recognition. Kolongi typically uses oils on canvas to convey his messages. His primary motivation and goal is to project postitive images. The diverse subject matter of his work includes family, culture, spirituality and the black experience. Kolongi's artwork emphasizes the compelling heritage and culture of the black experience.
