About This Poster
This It All Starts At Home motivational poster features a photograph of two Black parents reading a book together with their child, paired with a message about parents taking responsibility for their children's growth. The open edition poster is printed on paper and ready for framing or display as is.
The message printed on the poster reads:
Taking responsibility for your child's development and well-being
Why It Matters
Researchers have long found that reading aloud with children at home builds vocabulary, early literacy, and a love of learning. In Black communities, the family has always been the first school, carrying forward a tradition that began when freedpeople built schools and taught one another to read after emancipation.
About the Founder
Founder William Armstead built Motivational Product Depot, originally D'azi Productions, around the belief that history can motivate. Each poster in his collection connects a single word, such as courage, vision, or strength, to a moment or a person from Black history, so the lesson lands every time someone walks past it.
