An African American historical poster that pays tribute to the legacy of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion. This group of African American women served with honor overseas during World War II.

The poster features images of Major Charity Adams Earley and selects women that served in this battalion. It also features the following words that inform the viewer of some of the history of this distinguished group.


“The 688th Central Postal Directory Battalion was the only All Black and All female battalion that served overseas during World War II. Led by Major Charity Adams Earley, it consisted of over 855 African American women. Many of the members received medals for their exemplary service and in 2018, a monument was erected in their honor at Fort Leavenworth ".
