Alix Beaujour was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and moved to the United States in 1978 where he now resides in Dallas, Texas. He has mastered the use of colors and imagery with private study in Haiti and a short stay in Paris France. Alix is a versatile and talented artist who paints in different mediums to depict the daily life like folklore of the African, West Indian and American Cultures. His most recent conception has been experimentation with pastel. He finds this medium more expressive than oil and uses it to portray the beauty of women in the diversity of roles they play. He is sensitive to detail and therefore makes use of bold colors, dimension and expression to make his subjects come alive.
