Description

A set of hand-carved Christmas ornaments fashioned in the shape of the West African Djembe drum. Use these miniature Djembes to incorporate elements from Mother African into your Christmas and Holiday decor.

The Djembe drum has been an integral part of spiritual and ritualistic life in West Africa for many generations. It was traditionally played by African griots who used it for story-telling and for passing on important historical, religious, and cultural information to future generations.

Each ornament measures between 2 to 3 inches in height. The largest piece measures 3.1 inches (Height) x 1.2 inches (Length) x 1.2 inches (Depth). The smallest piece measures 2 inches (Height) x 1.2 inches (Length) x 1.2 inches (Depth).

Hand-carved from Sese wood, hand-painted, and finished with recycled glass beads, real leather, and cotton cord. Crafted in Ghana and imported into the United States.

Each ornament is hand made so there may be slight and subtle differences in pattern, shape and/or size. This is what makes your ornament unique and a true piece of African art!
