Every sunrise is a gift. So is every breath, every answered prayer, every person who loves you and every door that opened when you least expected it. Living the blessed life starts with noticing those gifts and saying thank you before the day gets busy.
Albert Fennell's Living the Blessed Life carries that spirit of gratitude and grace. A woman stands with her back to us, long braids falling past her shoulders, a red, gold and green band wrapped around her head and a stacked gold hoop at her ear. A thick shawl circles her shoulders in bands of red, black, gold and green, colors that echo Pan-African pride, layered over a golden dress patterned with small black motifs. On the other side, "Living the Blessed Life" flows in warm brown script.
A cream exterior and handle frame the art, a deep red interior adds a rich pop of color, and the tall 17 oz shape holds a generous morning coffee, tea or latte. The same painting is also available on our Living the Blessed Life shower curtain, bath mat and tapestry throw if you want to carry the look through your home.
A Gift of Gratitude
Give it to the grandmother who counts her blessings out loud, the church mother who prays for everyone, the friend celebrating a retirement or the host who opens her home every Thanksgiving. It also makes a warm Mother's Day or birthday gift for anyone who meets each morning with a grateful heart.
About the Artist
The late Albert Fennell was a San Diego native whose gift showed itself early. He was drawing detailed cartoon characters by age five, and a tempera landscape he painted in sixth grade was exhibited at the San Diego Museum of Art. He went on to study at San Diego Mesa College and San Diego City College. His paintings appeared on the television series "Generations," and Rosa Parks, Anita Baker and Jesse Jackson were among those who commissioned his work. He described his mission as building communication among all people through truth, pride and compassion.
