Cidne Wallace spent more than twenty years drawing the women she came from. Tall, elegant, dressed to be seen, and always saying something worth hearing. She called the body of work Always a Sistah, and she was clear about where it came from: "We are a wealth of knowledge, ideas, creativity, sass, and mother wit. I just glean from that with my work." Cidne passed away in July 2024. Girlfriends continues, and we are grateful for her life, her work, and the inspirational sentiments that carry us through every day of the year.

Cidne Wallace worked from Southern California, where she created, volunteered, and enjoyed her beautiful days. Over two decades she built the Always a Sistah collection into graphic art, canvas originals, and a small business of her own, and her women found their way onto magnets, mugs, journals, stationery, bags, and home decor around the world. She thanked her fans constantly and meant it. Cidne passed away in July 2024, and her work continues to bless the sisters she made it for.
