He shaped every curl, every shade of your skin and every gift He placed inside you, and He called His work marvelous. You were never an accident or an afterthought. Let this verse be the first thing you read each morning, and let it remind you that you were made on purpose, for a purpose.

Keith Conner pairs that promise with a striking portrait. A Black woman glances back over her shoulder, her expression calm and knowing. Her natural hair rises in a crown of deep brown texture, painted so thickly you can almost feel the ridges, with streaks of light blue weaving through it. A small gold cross hangs from her ear, and a leopard-print top slips from one shoulder against a bright blue sky. On the other side, Psalm 139:14 is hand-lettered over sweeping strokes of blue and teal, with "Fearfully & Wonderfully" set in gold foil.

A teal interior and handle frame the design, and the tall 17 oz shape holds a generous morning coffee, tea or latte.

A Gift for Women of Faith

Give it to the mother who taught you to pray, the friend who leads women's Bible study, a newly baptized sister or the young woman who needs to hear she is enough. It is a thoughtful choice for Mother's Day, birthdays, pastor's wife appreciation and church gift exchanges.

About the Artist

Keith David Conner has been drawing and painting for as long as he can remember. He studied in the gifted artist program at Michigan's Genesee Area Skill Center and later worked as a package designer before devoting himself to fine art full time. His paintings challenge negative perceptions of Black people and celebrate faith, family and Black womanhood. His work has been shown at Chicago's South Side Community Art Center and the Museum of Science and Industry's Black Creativity exhibition, and the African American Arts Alliance of Chicago named him its 2011 Artist of the Year for Visual Arts.

Care

Hand wash recommended to protect the gold foil.
