African Blackwood is very difficult to work with by hand or with tools but it is among the finest of all turning "woods". Capable of holding threads and intricate details well. It is also very expensive wood due to the fact that the tree grows very slowly.
Items crafted out of African Blackwood are becoming rare as more efforts are taken to preserve the tree. All our goods are ethically sourced and we have reduced the amount of African Blackwood goods we carry at this time to ensure that what we offer has been ethically sourced with respect for the species.
