He has mastered the use of colors and imagery with private study in Haiti and a short stay in Paris France. Alix is a versatile and talented artist who paints in different mediums to depict the daily life like folklore of the African, West Indian and American Cultures. His most recent conception has been experimentation with pastel. He finds this medium more expressive than oil and uses it to portray the beauty of women in the diversity of roles they play.
